Fia Fia Retell

Guess What? Last week, On Thursday the 7th of April 2016 we had our annual Fia Fia. During school we were getting called out to go and practise for tonight. I was so excited. Once school was over, everyone went home and people were setting up their stalls for when people came back. The stalls had food and desserts on it so that people could have their dinner at school. All of the stalls opened at 4pm. At 4pm people started to show up and buy their dinner for tonight. There was a lot of food to be sold. At 6pm we had to go to our Holding/Changing rooms. So, when the clock hit 6pm, Mr Burt told us that we needed to go to our Holding/Changing rooms to get ready. Everyone rushed to their Holding/Changing really really fast.

At 7pm all of the fia fia groups went to sit on the mat and the MC's Introduced Mr Burt and said a karakia/prayer. After that they had announced who was going to open us up with the very first performance. It was the Yr 5 - 8 Kapa Haka Group. They were super duper loud. It was amazing. Next up was The Rock Band. They sang a song called Sweet Child Of Mine. I enjoyed it. Especially, the guitars and drums in the background.

My group performed after The Jump Jam group. We were the 11th group to perform. I was feeling really nervous. My dad and my step brother were watching me from the side of the stage. We went on slowly, trying to follow the beat of the song that was playing. I made a few mistakes, but dad told me to just keep on going and don't worry about it.

All of the performances finished at around 9pm. I was super super tired. So, I went home had something to eat and then I went to sleep.
