WALT: conduct a statistical inquiry.
On this presentation we did a bit of fitness/exercise in class and test our heart rate (bpm)
6 seconds by 10! We found our results pretty accurate.

2017 Inquiry Project

This is my 2017 Term 2 Inquiry Project. My group figured that there was barley
any games in the common room at school for people to play. So.... we decided
to solve that problem by making 4 more board games for people to play. We made,
Chess, Checkers, Marble Run and Ball Toss. We used a lot of materials to create everything,
but me accomplished our goals. This presentation includes all of the materials we needed, the
steps on our we created it, and what our project is about. Take a look and I hope that you enjoy.

This presentation task is all about statistics. It is about, Mean, Median, Mode
and Range. This presentation has helped me learn more about graphs. I have

Term 1 - Extension Reflection

For term 1, in our extension group, we were given a task to create a maze game
using scratch. It was quite challenging since we were beginners. Soo... we got
a lady from, "OMGTech", to come and help us with coding. She gave some very
helpful advice, which we used to create our game. Her name was, Zoey.
Soo... we also had to complete this reflection on our game. This presentation

Wk 6 Problems

This week my group (Compasses) and I have been working on this presentation since last week now. This presentation includes, Adding Decimals, Place value and much more. The poster that you can see on the left is part of this activity. It has also helped me with my decimals. It is pretty much a pyramid of added decimals. It also fits well with my - WALT.

Maths Word Problems

WALT -  Illustrate (draw/show) the steps we used to solve each problem

This week we were learning not just how to find out the answer, but to also show our solving out. At the end of the presentation, we were given another task to pick anyone of the questions and make a poster about it. I decided to do the 1st question. The questions that we were given were quite hard, but I still made it to the end. I learnt that even somethings are hard, just try, try and try again until you get it. I enjoyed a little bit of a challenge. Hint: When it is hard for you to just think of the answer in your head, it is easier to write down your solving out on a piece of paper.

Mountain Narrative

In 1937, on a Saturday afternoon, 2 newborn baby boys were finally brought to life after being in their mother’s stomach for 7 months. Their names were Taranaki and Tongariro. They were raised by their lovely parents, Ruapehu and Pihanga. They had very mean neighbours living across from their house. But then a few hours later a newborn baby girl was born. Her name was Everest. Her parents were, Logan and Eden. The minute Taranaki and Tongariro saw how beautiful Everest was, they were shocked. Everest took their breath away. If you could only she how beautiful she was.

The problem was that Taranaki and Tongariro both loved her so much. A few years later,  Everest grew up to be a beautiful young lady. Then Taranaki and Tongariro grew up as well. Taranaki grew up to be a brave, handsome and strong young man. So did Tongariro. A few hours later, Everest went over to Taranaki and Tongariro’s house to see if they could play outside. So they both came to the door and saw that Everest was standing there right in front of them. “Are you allowed to come and play outside with me” she asked. They both said, “Yeah, sure. Why not,” So they all went outside to play. But then it started to get darker and darker. Than Everest said, “Sorry guys, I had a lot of fun. But it is getting too dark, so I need to go home. We can always play tomorrow.” Then Taranaki and Tongariro said, “Sure, we need to be heading inside as well for dinner.” After that they all said, “GOODBYE. SEE YOU TOMORROW.”

10 years later… Taranaki and Tongariro started to get furious with each other. They both loved the same girl. But they didn’t know what to do about it. So they battled over Everest to win her beloved heart. Once Everest had heard about what they were going to do, she suggested that they play rugby for her and whoever gets to 5 points first will get to go out with hey, but whoever loses with get turned into a mountain. They went to the rugby field and played and played until someone had won 5 points at least. But then… They came a tie. So Taranaki and Tongariro said, “Oh no, we have come a tie. What do we do now?” Everest said, “So break the tie. Whoever scores the next goal wins!” So after a while Taranaki and scored the final winning goal and he won over Everest for her beloved heart. He was so excited.

After that, Tongariro said, “Congrats Taranaki!! You deserve a woman like Everest.” They all then went back to their house and Tongariro travelled somewhere else to get turned into a mountain. Once he had done that he would no longer be called just Tongariro. He would be called Mount Tongariro. For his sake, he now stands located in Manawatu - Wanganui. Then about 2 years later, Everest and Taranaki had a beautiful little girl. They called her Pihanga. That is my version of the story of how Mount Tongariro was formed.

We picked him because he was a really famous and smart Inventor. Also known as a scientist. He Created a refrigerator. But not just any refrigerator. He called it the Einstein Refrigerator.
