Holiday Recount

Talofa Lava, Kia Ora, Malo, Kia orana and greeting to all. My name is Ata and I am going to tell you about my holidays.

1st Week of the Holidays

For the 1st week I have been with my Nana until Thursday. Her name is Catherine. She is the best Nana ever. I love her so much. On Monday we stayed home and just relaxed for the whole day. We watched movies. We ate. We also went to sleep for a very long time. I was so tired. At about 3pm, my mum got home from work. My mum works at Alphacrucis (Chaplain Work). She also came home with my baby sister. My baby sister started getting all happy and bouncing around when my mum put her down inside. I was so happy to see my mum and sister. Around 4pm, my dad got home from work as well. He works as Head Security at New World. He works very very hard. After that we had dinner and once we finished dinner, me and my sister Paige cleaned up. Furthermore, we then relaxed, watched TV and went to sleep.

Favorite Part of the Holidays

My Favorite part of the holidays was when I went to Te Oro on Thursday the 9th of July 2015. It was my favorite day because I got to try something new that I have never done before. I joined a Dance Workshop and an Art Workshop. I went to the Dance class at about 10am. I stayed there and learnt some cool dance moves. We had 3 mentors called Justin, Lance and Lekki. They are awesome dancers. I love my dance class. After my dance class I went to my other class. Art class. In my Art class we played games to win sweets. First when you get in you have to guess a number and if you get it right or if you don't get it right, but you get closest to it then you get a prize. You will get a big packet of lollies. That is only at the end of the class. It finishes at 4pm. Normally at 4pm I go home, but sometimes I stay a bit longer. It is Awesome in the holidays.

My Holiday Highlight Term 2 2015

My Holiday Highlight

During the Holidays, on the 17th I went to Panmure for my uncle’s Dad’s funeral. His name was Kevin. He died on The 3rd of April 2015. Kevin was a very funny man. I went to the funeral with my mum, my dad and my brother and sisters. The funeral was very long.

My Dad gave a speech about Kevin and there was something very funny that he said. He said, “Kevin used to say that he was Kevin from Heaven.” The kids that were related to him sang a song in front of him in the coffin (Kevin was in the coffin, not the kids). They sang He Honore.  The funeral was awesome.  

On the 18th, we had a birthday party at my house for my baby sister. She was turning 1 years old. Heaps of people showed up and there were a lot of presents. We had a barbecue with chops, marinated steak, onions, salad and drinks. It was delicious. After that we waited for about 3o Min and then we had the cake. On the cake it said Mikyrah 1st. Then it had a little girl make out of icing on top of the cake and beside the girl there was a dove made out of icing as well. I said that, “I want to eat the girl made out of icing.” But my mum said, “You are not allowed to eat it until everyone goes because then everyone would want some and there is not enough for everyone.” So then I felt sad.  

Have you ever tried a girl made out of icing before? After everyone ate at least one piece of cake each, me, my sister, and my 3 cousins went to the shop to get some lollies for the kids and ourselves. We got some bubblegum, some soft lollies, razoos, and a block of chocolate.  The chocolate and bubblegum was for us. The soft lollies were for the other kids. My cousin started yelling and saying, “I want some lollies, Can I have some!?”  

Then everyone went home and one of the 3 kids stayed over. Their names were Genesis, David and Athena. We bought the mattresses into the lounge and then I had one mattress and Genesis had his own. My brother Israel, slept on the couch. We watched The Lego Movie. Furthermore, we then relaxed and went to sleep. I didn’t sleep until it was 2:00 in the morning. I felt really tired after that, but I had a wonderful day.
