Auckland Maritime Museum Experience

On Wednesday the 18th of March 2015 the extension people and some extras went to the Auckland Maritime Museum. At 8:30 the extension people and the extras went to the hall. Once everyone was in the hall we got into five different groups.  The names were: Maugerei ( Mountain ), Wai o Taiki ( Our River ), Ukutoia ( Pt England ), And 2 others. The bus arrived late so while we waited we sang a few Maori songs. Miss Tito grabbed her guitar and played the tune. 

Then the bus had arrived. All of us hopped in, but we had to wait a bit for the people to get on first. I sat next to Teija. I liked the ride to the Auckland Maritime Museum. On the way we waved to people walking on the sidewalk. Some of them waved back to us as well. 

When we got to the Auckland Maritime Museum, we sat on the sidewalk in front of the entrance door. We first met this man called Frazer and he told us about the Museum and what we are allowed to do and what we are not allowed to do. The rules that are in your classroom were the same rules at the Maritime Museum. 

The first activity that I did was the Peace flags. You had to draw a border on your flag. If you already had one then you could start drawing on your peace flag. On your peace flag you could have drawn anything you wanted to draw. I drew a picture of a turtle, some coconut trees, peace signs, I also wrote my name, where I come from and what school I go to. 

The 2nd activity that I did was to explore a Hawaiian boat called the Hikianalia. I loved the Hikianalia and It made me realise how cool a boat is. I wouldn't mind staying on that boat. It has everything it needs. A toilet. A kitchen. Rooms with 4 or 5 Bunk Beds. Another room where 2 people can sleep in. That room where only 2 people can sleep in just has 2 normal big beds. Something to steer the boat with. I would want to sail on a boat like that some day. Here is another picture of the people that we got to meet at The Auckland Maritime Museum. Gigantic Earthquake In Nepal

I am going to tell you about the earthquake that had happened in Nepal. Hope you enjoy my report.

In Nepal there was a gigantic earthquake also known as the Gorkha Earthquake. Did you know that the earthquake killed more than 8,00 people and injured more than 16,000 people in Nepal? Well I didn’t either. If you look on this LINK YOU WILL FIND INFORMATION ABOUT THE EARTHQUAKE.  This is a link on wikipedia about what happened in Nepal. This is some pretty interesting information. I wonder how the earthquake happened. Here is a LINK ABOUT HOW EARTHQUAKES HAPPEN.  The earthquake in Nepal happened at 11:56 on the 25 April 2015.

In Nepal a lot of people are suffering and heaps of people were made homeless. The earthquake in Nepal was also known as the Gorkha Earthquake.  It was the worst natural disaster to strike Nepal since the 1934 Nepal–Bihar earthquake. The earthquake triggered an avalanche on Mount Everest, killing at least 19, making it the deadliest day on the mountain in history. There was also a baby which got pulled out nearly dead. 10 classes got destroyed in the worst-affected districts.Almost 24,000 classrooms were damaged or destroyed in the disaster that hit the country 12 days ago. Did you also know that Today at about 5:00 there was another earthquake which was a 7.3 Magnitude.

Heaps of people tried to contact one of their family but some did and some didn't. There were nearly 100 new Zealanders that are registered as being in Nepal. 1.7 million children living in areas hardest hit by the earthquake. Some people are lucky because some people made it out alive, but most people are dead because of the earthquake. A week after the earthquake happened, a 101 year old man had got saved, but almost dead. Please take a look at this link and hear about this sad story about a baby. The baby hadn't got crushed, but He had a lot of marks and cuts all over his body. Some entire towns in Nepal were flattened. Countries all over the world are donating money for Nepal. Millions of dollars to fix their homes and classrooms. To Build everything they need again. It would be so sad for the people in Nepal that have died or lost some of their family members. So people from UNICEF are helping children forget about what might have happened to their family by playing games with them, painting with them. Doing everything they can to help the children.

People should play it because it actually helps you learn how to make cup cakes. You should play this game because you would love to make cupcakes for your customers.

Mothers Day Blog Post

It’s Mother’s Day today so let me tell you about my mum... My mum is incredible. Her job is a receptionist. She likes to cook and take care of my baby sister. Her favourite food is Ravioli (I Think) Her favourite colour is Green Her favourite thing to do is go to work and cook (I Think) If my mum had time, she would maybe go out somewhere with her friends. She always says clean up your mess and stop arguing. My mum and I like to sleep. She is really good at cooking The best thing about my mum is that she is really great at taking care of us and that she is always patient with us. My mum is special to me because she is awesome and I love her more than anything.
