As you can see, Jack Kirby is as famous as Elvis when it comes to comic books.

WILL HE SAVE HER??

It was a beautiful snowy day, kids would play outside with the snow. They would even make snowmen and snowballs to chuck at others. It was hilarious. Later on that day, Mary Jane sees a shadow behind a bush. She goes towards it. OHHH! NOOO! Her Heart pounds, as she saw The Joker and Dead pool approaching. By the angry looks on their faces, she knew that she was in grave danger. So, she ran and ran until she was out of breathe. But, The joker and Dead pool were too fast for M.J. The villains captured her and took her to the top of the Nakatomi Tower.  

She screams for help, but no one comes. They were trying to kill her, so they didn’t feed her or give her any water. Than, a few minutes later, Superman approaches to Mary Jane’s rescue.  Superman says “I will battle you for the beloved Mary Jane. If I win you will give her to me. If you win, then you can tie me up as well as keeping Mary Jane.” The Joker and Dead pool took the deal. They battled and battled until someone was too hurt to fight anymore. Superman lost. The villains tied him up. Superman broke out of the ropes. The villains picked up Mary Jane and chucked her off the building.

Superman dived off the top of the building, and swooped to Mary Jane’s rescue. Flew her to ground and they immediately fell in love. After a while, they celebrated superman saving Mary Jane and dead pool and the joker were put behind bars for 17 years. HOORAY!! Everyone shouted.

She looks so awesome in it.

This term for extension we are creating a pacific or maori warrior. Here is my description of the characters in my story. Take a look.

Archibald Baxter

Archibald was once forced to join the war, but he refused to join. So, people thought that he was scared and called Archie a coward. But, he knew that he was not a coward, because he was the only one to have courage and say, “NO” to the whole town. Then, he decided join war after all. But, since he refused at first, the other soldiers were ordered to torture him. For Example: Tying to him a pole, outside where it’s cold and snowy for long periods. Once they let him go, his hands would turn black because of all the congested blood. When they tied him up, the ropes were so tight, that it stopped his circulation. Nearly dead. But, he still wouldn’t surrender. He had more courage than anyone that was battling in war. Even though he was still being tortured and he never ate. He was the best soldier there could be.

Harry's War - Letter to Ted

Week 1 Reading Task

Text: Harry’s War by Mark Derby (School Journal L3 June 2014)

Using the text, create a short letter from Harry to Ted. In this letter, Harry is going to tell Ted that the war is over.

Think about:

• How Harry feels at this moment in time.
• How Harry believes the other soldiers feel at this moment in time.
• What Harry misses the most about home.
• What Harry is least looking forward to on the trip home.
